(end of May)
boy do i miss this site!
these adorable girls running back and forth, over the green hill to each other's houses.
we were so lucky to have the smoots for neighbors, a dream come true!, during our 6 month stay at stephen's grandfather's house (we lived there from Dec through May...are we hard to keep track of?!)
these two sneakies crack me up and are inseparable when together!
hearing their conversations are hilarious.
the two of them combined are able to mispronounce most consonants. its adorable.
my only evidence that we did celebrate the fourth.
grant had a slight obsession with flags. notice death grip.
hannah tirelessly earned her chores so she could buy....a kid's gardening tool set and flowers to plant!
more work and in the hot sun. this girl is impressive. but loves to get things done!
ready to swim.
the new addition to our family.
meet "sea diver", named by hannah.
i never thought i could love a 2007 mini van this much.
the automatic doors make me smile every time.
breakfast in annapolis.
kindergarten prep: monkey bars. lots of them.
when i told hannah to go get dressed because it was time to go on her date with daddy, to my surprise she came down wearing this. but then i thought, of course, that makes complete sense.
i love/dislike walking in on this....so cute that he loves the buttons so much and the tractor video daddy pulls up for him, but then i have to work at closing about 15 windows.
just after we put the kids to bed, we realized it was national donut day.
they were thrilled to get out of bed and go get a free hot fresh donut in their pj's.
good thing we lived with fairy experts, grampa joe and gramma sue.
though know all of the secrets to planning a perfect fairy party.
and did they come the next morning??
madeline's face says it all.
and boy did they go big...
what would you do if multiple times during the day this face looked up and you asking, "nuddle" and "tory". snuggle? story? with you??!!?? yes please!!
i love reading this little guy his bedtime stories.
i can't get over how hilarious it is to read, "digger", "scrapper", "bulldozer".
how can that sound comforting and soothing and the perfect thing to get ready for sweet dreams??
but it does.
in fact, the only thing that will get him to stop crying (anytime), is begin a discussion on the latest bulldozer/digger run-ins.
i love boys!
another daddy-daughter date night...this time rapuntzel on the lawn!
saying good bye to these friends has been a tough one.
my kids just adore sophia and oliver and have had quite the adventures together.
this is their last playdate.
boy do i miss their mommy!
not only did the girls do vacation bible school this year (wish i had pics but hopefully i won't forget madeline's theme song she'd chant after i'd pick them up: "no-thing is! im-pos-sible with God!)...but the girl's also went to an adorable ballet camp once a week.
at the county fair.
grant's highlight was definitely the chopper hopper with daddy.
spent a lot of time poolside this summer.
awful pick...but steve and i had a blast going to the berchmere to see don williams.
don't know don williams??
stephen's dad grew his boy up on his music.
think of a good ole' country boy singing about love, miracles, babies.
it kind of has become our families theme music the past two summers with all that has been going on.
it was a GREAT night!
even if the contract with a rental we thought we were going to get the next day fell through in the morning.
ouch. the current tenants who were divorcing, decided to reconcile. really?!
but how can you not be happy for them?
