he's really a dream

so on mother's day (aka madeline's birthday, aka hannah's accident day)...stephen gave me a big surprise. a very sneaky big surprise.

for 6 months (did you hear that?? 6 months!!!), stephen had a part-time job (without me knowing) while going to school full-time and starting a business. i had no clue. and he did it ALL for me.

melts my heart.

so i was overwhelmed when, while the cutie-pies were napping, and we snuggled on the couch in the afternoon sun munching on georgetown cupcakes (my favorite), he divulged this well hid secret and presented me with a new nikon camera and editing software. i could not believe it.

and still can't believe what that gift means to me. not because of the expense of the gift. but of all of the sacrifice that went into getting such a thoughtful gift.

every time i hear that camera's shutter, my heart leaps in a little flutter  {xo}

first nikon attempts:

{summer family crab feast. models: hannah, madeline, aunt jane, and baby lucas}

can't wait to learn more!

Ohh! Steve is awesome! We bought a new Canon Rebel...similar to the Nikon. Teach me some tricks if you learn any!

Steve has a heart as big as his muscles (maybe bigger).
Your camera will document priceless memories.

Wow that is amazing. That pic of steve is just so him too.

I was so sorry to hear about hannah. How terrifying for all of you.... though I do have to say after reading all the posts at once that she's lucky to have you as a mom! You are so sweet with her -- I especially love all the additions to her 'hats' and the brave parties. You are so good at getting the positive out of things.

congrats on the new baby too!
