baby its cold outside

brrr! florida to minnesota is a giant leap! but we savored every moment enjoying the snowfall, a cold cozy christmas,  abilskievers, and especially time to spend with family and relatives.

upon arriving in minneapolis, we tried to bundle the girls up the best we could. sweet little madeline was in complete SHOCK when she took her first breathe of the icy air--she screamed! i know, hannah's vest wasn't much for the below freezing temps but grammie v came to the rescue with a pink puffy snowsuit. t h a n k y o u !

...braving the cold...

...twas the night before christmas...

a M E R R Y l i t t l e C H R I S T M A S indeed!

christmas has taken on such a deeper meaning this year. these little girls bring so much fulfillment and joy into our lives.

the rest of the time was spent wearing pj's all day everyday, lots of games, eating abilskievers, and prime entertainment from hannah and madeline.

hannah's screaming "cheese!" in this picture

2 fast 2 photo no longer!

left: life with OLD camera...99% of the pics turned out blurry, missing every adorable smile and toothy grin (these were taken a few weeks before christmas...madeline at 7 months: crawling, two teefs, and real food!)

below: life with the NEW christmas camera (santa made it in time to bring steve and i a new pocket size camera...thanks little elves!)

a christmas miracle:

steve and i were able to sneak out the door for a little husband-wifey getaway celebrating our 4 year anniversary (december 20th)! i'll keep my love letter writing skills between steve and i...but i sure do love and admire the fellow...

What a fun-filled Christmas! I love abilskievers!! The girls looked so cute cozied up in their snowsuits. A train set? Hannah and William are now officially soulmates! Miss Mads looks so much like you and we can't believe she's crawling. Can she give a crawling clinic to Oliver if we ever meet up?
And last, Happy Anniversary!! We like that fellow of yours too.

So that's how you spell abilskievers. My favorite is when Hannah would say abilskevers...it would end up being "a-il-skiers!"

Hannah and Madeline were so cute together. Madeline is such a little cutie and Hannah is such a sweet heart especially with her sis. One of my favorite quotes from Hannah was when Marta was changing Madeline's diapers and Madeline was crying. Hannah calmed down Madeline by saying: "i's okay Ma-al-in aun'ie Mar'a's jus changin your diapers!"

Also, Hannah was so cute when she wanted to stay up ESPECIALLY on Christmas Eve! She would run around upstairs and try to trick us when we caught her by saying she was just looking for water! Man that girl makes me giggle! And it was so cute how Madeline couldn't get enough of being held and cared for by her mommy and daddy!

I can feel the joy, clear over here. I am so glad that you were all able to get together.
Hooray for the camera! I always ask your brother for pictures, and he says that's your job! Good thing you have a blog!

PS- Abilskievers are an ALL time favorite. I even got a pan for Christmas!

I can't tell you the anxiety I feel when there is a lack of postings from Callie! Hannah looks so grown up in her snow vest. Glad you had a good holiday season and got a new camera!

Yea for abilskievers on Christmas morning. And congrats on the anniversary -- I always forget how close our weddings are. Can you believe that in just four years we've both had two kids? How come you hogged the girls? I want pink puffy snow suits!

Your Christmas looks like fun! Call me soon. We NEED to catch up over the phone, not just on blogspot.

Love the snow!!! It is so fun! Elle started dance at about 2 but a friend did the class and it was darling! If you are intrested in doing one I can tell you all about it. It involved alot of props. Usually places will not start them until they are 3 but they let Elle in this year because she was turning 3. You may just want to try it. It is the high light of Elles week. And you know since they are soul mates and all:)

Wow, I can't believe that it was 4 years ago that we went to your wedding! Time definitely flies! Your girls are so cute playing in the snow, and I think that Madeline is looking more and more like you Callie! They are adorable.

Congrats on the new camera! I hope you like it... Can't wait to see LOTS of razor-sharp pics on the blog! I'm so glad that you had a fun christmas. I can relate to the lack of winter coats for the girls -- living in the south doesn't help that cause!

Also, congrats on 4 fabulous years! I am SO glad that I was able to be there with you two on your big day... was that really FOUR years ago? WOW.

Miss you, love you - Can't wait to be your next door neighbor next year!!! (well, my fingers are crossed anyway...)

Having a fast camera with fast little kiddos makes all the difference in the world! I feel like, even with a fast camera, I have to take 100 pictures to come up with a few good ones! The shutter speed just isn't up to snuff with our little ones!

It looks like your Christmas was wonderful! I loved your pictures.

Congratulations on four wonderful years. I feel like it just gets better and better! (Especially when all the business school applications are in!! Michael's last one is due tomorrow at noon. Hip, Hip, Hooray!!)

We miss you guys!
