gingerbread chateau

hannah was in sugar dreamland!

i beckoned stephen to make a wintery snowman and this is what it turned into:

thank goodness hannah was there to act quickly and save the little
snowman's image! "puwple hat-sth (purple hats)" were just the trick. sugar
blob turned fashion icon instantly! yay hannah!

stephen made up for the mishap with an AMAZING veggie garden:

All we have to say is that your family has a lot of fun, a lot of adventures, and a very good vocabulary...a chateau? Who would think of making a gingerbread chateau!? With vegetable gardens no less! Merry Christmas!

Love it. The veggie garden is adorable... I just bought all the fixins to decorate houses with my YW on wednesday... do you have a good royal icing recipe?

What a fun family activity!

yeah, a friend shared with me the best icing recipe for gingerbread houses. you are going to want to buy meringue powder (in the baking isle...its basically powdered egg whites)... use the royal icing recipe that comes in the little recipe insert. it dries rock solid and will hold almost anything in place instantly...as you can tell from ours. haha. have fun!

I am so glad Madeline has gained her protective baby fat. She looks so much more durable from the last time I saw her. I can't wait to roll her around. I am so excited to see you guys.
